It’s about 37F or +3C in Winnipeg and it feels like a tropical hideaway!
And I had a great 10K run last night…well, a smidge under a 10K. I ran 6 miles…in 47:19. Was amazing and felt great to have a bit of speed back…esp since I had NO hernia pain during the run (it came later, but nothing some ice couldn’t help). It’s not my 7:30s I was rather easily maintaining pre hernia, but I’ll take this…maybe if I have a good day at Princess I can have a new 10K PR?
My weekend is a bit of a busy one–lots of house work, lots of running (10K and 15-16 miles on Saturday and Sunday respectively) and some extra special baking–a birthday gift to one of my dear friends Miss Amanda, who turns the big 3-0 this weekend.
I’m also hoping that this warm weather means a chance to calibrate my garmin as there are roads with no snow or ice!!!! YAY!!!!!!! I’m planning on going out to my neighbourhood park to run and get this situation taken care of…fingers crossed it works this time. 🙂
Despite all the junk going down this weekend, I’m happy as all get out that it’s Friday. These last two weeks have felt really long, I’ve had a few migraines, crappy runs and my sleep has been horrible. Plus, I won’t lie…all of this and the worry about Herbie the hernia has left me feeling a bit burnt out with running…but after last night and how weirdly good I’m feeling today…well, I’m hoping that this weekend, I can build off of today’s awesomeness and keep going over the next few weeks until I leave for Disney….especially since I will be traveling for work the first week of February.
Do you have big plans for the weekend? Any long training runs planned? Any tips for lasting 15-16 miles on a treadmill?
