Return of the DOMS

Good Day All!

Happy 4th of July to all of my friends in America!  Hope you all have a most wonderful long weekend! 🙂  I plan on celebrating the 4th with a can of Cherry Coke Zero when I get home from work tonight. 🙂

As I am writing this blog post to you, it is clear that I survived my first two-a-day workout of the summer…and well, since last August right before the Dumbo Double Dare.   Hell, I even made it through with a smile on my face, as evidenced in the pics below–though my run smile is not quite as big as my Fit 45 smile.

I’m sore today.  Sore enough to wake myself up this morning when I tried to roll over in bed.  Mostly my back and torso, but a bit in my legs too as I did a large number of squats, split jumps and stairs at Fit 45.  My arms are ok, which is a surprise.  I purposely did my hair last night so it wouldn’t take too much effort to get it looking work ready this morning.

I am worried about how this will all feel towards the end of today as well as tomorrow…as I find DOMS is always worse on the second day.  Despite the DOMS, however, it feels pretty good to get in a two-a-day again.  I look forward to seeing the fitness gains that typically come with these extra workouts.

My weekend is relatively low key.  A few workouts, a baby shower, some errands and some time with friends.  I also have to sneak in a long run.  Hopefully it goes as well as my last one did! 🙂
