Hi There, Toronto!

Wow! What a great weekend. I am sitting in the airport now and totally cursing going back home. The City of Toronto and my dear friend Courtney were wonderful hosts and I am already excited about coming back for another visit! I won’t bog this post down with a whole lot of detail. We did a lot and yet nothing at all. We picked up our race kits….which included crackers, bananas a few Canadian Running Magazines like Impact, iRun and even a Canadian Race Guide. Oh and a TON of ads for local races. Sadly those went right into recycling for me.

Next stop was a Momofuku in the Shangri-la hotel. We ate delicious ramen and pork buns and drank a boozey spicey fruity slush.

Yummy!

Clearly we enjoyed our meal!

Happy!

I also hit up their pop-up Milk Bar. For me, this was nearly emotional. I wanted to buy all the treats!

I could hardly contain my excitement!

I bought a ton of stuff. 3 packages of truffles (chocolate, dolce de leche and birthday cake), 2 cornflake marshmallow chocolate chip crunch cookies, 2 slices of crack pie and the birthday cake. Oh and the dehydrated corn powder so that I could actually make crack pie at home! šŸ™‚

All the truffles were amazing!

So much better when someone else has made it!

After our meal, we did some shopping on Bloor and purchased some glorious new sunnies.

Pretty!

And once we were shopped out, we vegged the rest of the evening with some take out and a visit from one of my other grad school friends, chez Courtney. Saturday had us up and running early, literally. We decided to go to the Friendship Shakeout Run that was part of the Yonge Street 10K. We met up with Patrick from What the 5K . Post run we checked out the flagship Hudson’s Bay store and “The Room” and a few other shoppes in Eaton Centre. I also tripped over a tufted bench in the store and landed right on my ass. Fortunately i didn’t hurt myself or spill my coffee!

Matchy pink shoes!

The rest of the day was chillaxed. Courtney tried her first ever macaron and we watched Frozen and a season of Sex and the City.

Yum!

Sunday was race day! And the details of that will be covered in my race recap. But rest assured it was a great day.

Pre-race smiles!

Post race we had a glorious nap, a delicious dinner of leftovers, salad and cake. Then my friend And her husband stopped by Courtney’s for one last visit and to watch the season premier of Mad Men! Was such a lovely last night in Toronto! And now I am at the airport. I had such a wonderful time and I can’t wait to head back to this great city and visit my beautiful friends! • I am not too sure yet. I am saving it for when i get home. I have heard it is addictive like Crack. Lol. It is supposed to be similar to a southern traditional pie, i think it was called chess pie (if i recall correctly)?

  1. I have a Momofuku Milk Bar in my neighborhood! Corn cookies are my favorite but have you tried the Crack Pie yet? It’s basically butter and sugar šŸ™‚ Momo has my favorite cakes and cookies for sure!
