Foodie Friday: My Fav Granola!

Hey there!

It’s been a crazy day at work, so sorry, no time to share a recipe today, but I didn’t want to leave you post-less on Foodie Friday, so here it is!

I looooove granola.  The nice crunch, the yummy mix-ins…it’s all good!  Except…it’s NOT so good when you check out the nutrition labels!  Most of your typical grocery store, brand-name granolas are packed full of sugar – sometimes up to three or four different kinds of sugar on one ingredient list!!  Yeah, yeah – I could make my own granola…but we all know that time is precious, and we’re devoted to doing a lot of other busy-ness like running and working out and food prep…so discovering Love Grown Granola has been a huge time saver for me!

Apple Walnut DelightLove Grown Foods is a good ‘ol American company who makes delicious, natural granola  – they call it “oat clusters.”  They make 5 different varieties, my favourite being Apple Walnut Delight.  The ingredient list for that product reads:

Gluten-Free Oats, Honey, Walnuts, Coconut, Agave Syrup, Expeller Pressed Canola Oil, Dried Apples, Sunflower Seeds, Pure Vanilla, Milled Flaxseed, Cinnamon, Sea Salt

…everything is pretty basic, pronounceable and recognizable.  No “sugar,” no “corn syrup,” and no artificial sweeteners! Hooray!!  So, I love to put this stuff on my greek yogurt as a snack, and if you buy a few different flavours/mixes of the granola, you can change it up daily so you don’t get bored!

In Canada I buy Love Grown at London Drugs (who, BTW, has an awesome selection of natural food products!).  In the US, you lucky ducks can order off of Amazon, Abe’s Market Natural Goods, or  Give them a try and let me know what you think!
