I’m up and at ’em, packing my stuff and ready to hit the road during the Canadian long weekend. But I never ever skip breakfast (anymore!), and today is no exception! To fuel up for the 7 hour drive ahead of me today, I kicked off my morning with a green smoothie, as I do most days.
If you have never tried a green smoothie, this recipe is a good starter, because its taste is reminiscent of a familiar favorite: the Piña Colada!
Enter, the Green-a-Colada!
Green-a-Colada Breakfast Smoothie
Handful baby spinach
A few pieces pineapple (I used frozen, but fresh works too!)
Half a banana (again, I used frozen)
1/2 C skim milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use Body Fortress Vanilla Whey Isolate, available at Walmart)
Combine all of these things in a blender (Magic Bullet is my single-serving blender of choice) and mix. Add a straw and start sipping like you’re on the beach!
