The Glory of a New PR

Guess who has two thumbs and has a new personal distance record for swimming?

Post swim, un-styled hair FTW!

This girl!!!! I swam one whole mile and it feels fan-freakin-tastic. Especially since the last time I had any sort of personal records of any sort haven’t happened since May 2012 at the Fargo Half-Marathon.

I didn’t plan on doing the entire mile. I actually planned to stop at one kilometer (about 40 laps) like last week, but my friend was running late for our swim, so I got a head start. Next thing I knew, forty was done and she still had 25 laps to go…so I kept going until I hit that magic 67. Unfortunately, I have no idea how long it took because I forgot to start my watch…*sigh*

I can’t even begin to tell you how encouraging this is after a year of true to form fitness/running rut. Maybe this means that some other PRs might be coming my way!

Have you had any PRs lately? Do you have any you are shooting for? Do PR goals keep you motivated? Let us know in the comments!
